What happens if an F-35 crashes?

Another comment/observation about the F-35s training flights over Tucson. I admit that I don’t like the noise they make either, but something else bothers me a lot more.
Many of us remember the 1970s crash of a training jet just south of the UA stadium on Highland Avenue by Mansfeld Middle School. So, how wise is it for these faster and more powerful planes to train over such a populated area?
I can’t even imagine the destruction or loss of life from an F-35 crash today. Isn’t anyone else concerned about this possibility?
