Jet noise has a negative effect on economy

Re: the Feb. 4 article “Military jets’ noise hits nerve.”
In all the unproven claims of positive economic benefits to the Tucson area that will come from basing F-35 fighter jets at Tucson International Airport, I have seen no one address the very likely serious negative economic effects on property values, as well as mental and physical health and associated costs to all those who live and work near the airport.
Any honest and realistic assessment of the impact on our community of basing these aircraft at a civilian airport must take these concerns into account.
If Jim Click thinks F-35s at Tucson International Airport will be so wonderful for our economy, he should request that each F-35 flight be routed directly over his home. Then he can experience firsthand the effect these flights will inflict on the property values and quality of life for all the thousands who live near the airport.
