F-35 noise hard on homeowners
Re: the Dec. 8 guest opinion “F- 35 fighter would enhance bases’ local economic impacts.”
Maybe we shouldn’t be spending millions to soundproof homes near flight paths because, according to Gov. Jan Brewer in her guest opinion on F-35 jet fighters, we are depriving homeowners of the sound of freedom.
Forget the fact the F-35 is twice as loud as the existing fleet of fighter planes, which are already extremely loud. And don’t worry about the impact to your property values or the disruption of schools and the general annoyance of loud planes.
None of that is apparently relevant because if we don’t put these fighters in close proximity to urban populations our freedom is at stake. All very easy to suggest when you live nowhere near a jet fighter training facility.
