Does Davis-Monthan Diminish Noise Complaints?
Here is the letter from Congresswoman Giffords to her constituent. This is the letter Page 1 and Page 2 from the Washington Office of Legislative Liaison of the Air Force to Congresswoman Giffords.
During the air show held at Davis-Monthan last year, the answering machine for noise complaints was out of order.
During the recent exercises of Harriers from Yuma, a “customer” of Operation Snowbird, the answering machine that records noise complaints was not working.
Already mentioned is the recent Press Release about overflights of aircraft from Davis-Monthan that gave an incorrect telephone number for the public to call.
The letter above from the AF Legislative Liaison office regarding a constituent complaint belittles the member of the community stating the number of times she had called Davis-Monthan in 2009. This information, if true, had to have come from the Davis-Monthan Community Relations Office.
Does Davis-Monthan keep accurate records of noise complaints?
The letter to Congresswoman Giffords does make it clear that the D-M flight path can’t be altered due to the location of the two airports. Tucson International Airport and Davis-Monthan are located less than 5 miles apart which necessitated a waiver from the FAA.
